I am focused on Chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD) and the use of imaging to further characterize clinically relevant subtypes, increase understanding of disease pathophysiology, and identify radiographic intermediate clinical end-points. I am also interested in COPD in populations, in particular Hispanics. My interest is on further understanding the potential biological, demographical, and clinical disparities in COPD across populations. My current work is on computed tomography measures of emphysema subtypes, bronchiectasis, and body composition and their clinical impact. I am also working on the impact of COPD on Hispanics’ health related quality of life.
